A little character with A LOT of old

Baby Girl is coming up on 4 months and it has been pure bliss (even those first few weeks of waking up every 3 hours). She is healthy, so well-mannered and has slept 10 hours a night since she was 2 months old. We are such lucky parents!

The day Baby Girl turned 2 months we moved into a 2 bedroom apartment in our same building. We gave up a clean remodeled apartment for a little extra space, but having a bedroom for our little girl has been well worth it.

Here is what we have to work with:

This is our kind of tiny bedroom. We're on the top floor so we have high ceilings throughout and get amazing natural light through each window. Also, check out that horrid laminate flooring that is throughout the entire apartment. We will be buying carpet remnants and covering the tile in the living room and both bedrooms.

This bathroom was the stuffs back in the day but now it is just an allover dirty white color. This was the first room we tackled (first with rags and cleaners) and it actually looks livable now.

Our long empty hallway that might remain empty because it could be too narrow for wall art. There's that awesome laminate work again.

This is our living and dining area that gets so much more natural light than is shown here. We have a small view of Lake Michigan and the rest of the views out of our other apartment windows are pretty nice too!

Here is the oh-so-stylish metal cabinet kitchen. You can't win them all.

Our entryway has a large closet for storage and we've turned that little space behind the door into our landing pad as you enter.

This is Baby Girl's room with 3 large windows. Her room is really coming along and, once we have carpet, it will be a fun and safe place for her to be.

So, for the most part, it's a lot of white with a lot of old, but we are slowly livening it up. I have quite a few projects already done that I will be showing soon.

A Pop of Color Hack

Check out this hack I stumbled upon this weekend. Taking the Ikea Karlstad sofa midcentury was a great idea and I love the amazing color with the stained wood frame.

Welcome to Monday!

A Sneak Peak and a Little Change

Look what I finished this weekend!
Coffee table turned ottoman. I can't show it all to you because I haven't finished the legs yet (just needed to get is complete enough in preparation for Baby Girl's arrival). I am debating between painting the legs white or staining them. Which do you think?

Also, did you notice a slight change in the background? I ordered a large print from Target of a photo taken at our wedding that my husband and I both love.

I love it more! Our apartment is slowly becoming more us.

Lavender or Kelly Green

I understand that it might be cruel to not let you in on the entire look, but I want your initial opinion. So, which do you think?

Pinterest Eye Candy

I am very aware that the last few posts have been images only, but baby girl is getting a bit antsy to get out and making my days not as comfy as they once were. I promise I will be back to regular posting once I am feeling a little less tired and uncomfortable. Until then, these are some of my recent pins that I have been loving.

White crisp bed with bold pops of color. Loving the pink bench at the end of the bed with the bold blue pillows

Dorothy Draper+ Black+ Gold= Perfection

Natural wood, pop of color on mirror with a bit of floral

Mint (amazing color this summer) and dark pink- nice balance of solids and patterns without appearing too matchy matchy, but instead flowy

Interior Design as my De-stresser

Today was a rainy day that became very overwhelming very quickly. I had a baby appointment where we got the great news that Baby Girl will probably be arriving earlier than we thought. We have been excited about the news all day, but it quickly set in just how much I have left to do before she arrives.

Random To Do:
  • Register car (a lot harder when registering it in a new state instead of just renewing)
  • New church responsibilities that will be taking up more time than I initially thought
  • Baby shower in 2 days (I've put off buying anything until this happens)
  • Buy all little necessities for the baby (since we've bought nothing)
  • Laundry (Husband's and all of Baby Girl's clothes)
  • Clean the bathroom
  • Pack my hospital bag
  • Pick a pediatrician
  • Install car seat
  • Start writing thank yous
 Projects:
  • Hang bedroom mirror
  • Entryway lamp project
  • Convert coffee table to ottoman project (halfway done)
  • Purchase bed pillows
  • Entryway art piece
  • Bedroom wall art projects
  • Chew out FedEx for never leaving my rug when they come to deliver it
  • Organize or sell the amazingly hidden piles of junk around our apartment
  • Return some Ikea purchases (40 min drive out there ends up eating my whole day)

During all my mini freak out moments today I thought of this bedroom I fell in love with over the weekend and it immediately calms me down. Natural light, white bedding and a simple look fit my criteria for the perfect bedroom.
